At the crossroads of the picturesque and fertile Ptuj Field and the Prlekija region, in an excellent transport location between Ptuj and Ormo\u017e, a new chapter in boutique accommodation is beginning.\n\nThe Point **** guesthouse, built on the strong foundations of more than 40 years of hospitality tradition of the \u017diher family, officially opens its doors to guests today and is now accepting reservations. The new property in Mo\u0161kanjci combines contemporary accommodation, distinctive cuisine created in cooperation with local producers, and flavors from around the world.

The new tourist destination offers an ideal base for exploring the remarkably diverse surroundings of historic Ptuj, the wine-growing Slovenske Gorice hills, the Jeruzalem\u2013Ormo\u017e wine region, and Haloze, home to some of the finest wines of Slovenia\u2019s \u0160tajerska wine region.\n\nThis is more than an expansion of the local tourism offer. It is a project that sets new standards for sustainable development and energy efficiency in Slovenian tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Story Carved in Slovenian Wood<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Point is one of the few tourism properties in Slovenia designed as an energy-efficient new build with a predominantly timber structure. More than 90% of the building\u2019s external thermal envelope is made from wood and wood-based insulation materials.\n\nThe building incorporates a solid timber structure, blown-in wood-fibre insulation, and fa\u00e7ade panels made from wood fibres. More than 210 m\u00b3 of Slovenian timber was used in the construction, including over 150 m\u00b3 of KVH structural timber, nearly 45 m\u00b3 of BSH glued laminated timber, and 2,400 m\u00b2 of timber boards. The structure is held together by more than 30,000 screws and 500 metres of staples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building achieves significantly higher energy efficiency than required under current standards for new developments. Its key sustainable and technological solutions include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Green energy:<\/strong> heating with wood chips sourced from \u017diher Les\u2019s own wood-processing centre, combined with a highly efficient heat pump.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Energy self-sufficiency:<\/strong> an on-site solar power plant with an integrated battery storage system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Water reuse:<\/strong> a rainwater collection tank and distribution system that enables rainwater to be reused for toilet flushing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Indoor comfort:<\/strong> highly energy-efficient timber windows and doors, together with a heat-recovery ventilation system throughout the building.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Advanced digitalisation:<\/strong> a modern key-card system, a self-check-in kiosk, a hospitality TV system, and a fully integrated digital booking system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    A New Point for Experiences<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The guesthouse is built around four key pillars designed to meet the needs of today\u2019s travellers:

    THE POINT:
    <\/strong>17 spacious, comfortable and contemporary rooms designed for complete relaxation, including double rooms, rooms with an extra bed and family rooms.

    BIKE POINT<\/strong>:
    A starting point for cycling adventures, offering GPS routes, e-bike charging stations and 10 bicycles for hire: 8 touring e-bikes and 2 electric mountain bikes.

    WELLNESS & BEAUTY POINT<\/strong>:
    Two premium wellness areas featuring Finnish and infrared saunas, a whirlpool, loungers and showers.

    Business Point<\/strong>:
    A modern meeting place for the business community, with a fully equipped conference room for meetings, lectures and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    STATEMENT ON CYCLING TOURISM<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      \u201cThe Drava Cycle Route is already one of Europe\u2019s most important cycling corridors, and the Ptuj Field is its most beautiful section\u2014a plain between Haloze and Slovenske Gorice, where time slows down just enough for you to truly experience it. What was missing was a place where cyclists could genuinely arrive and feel at home: somewhere with a comfortable bed, excellent food and a team that understands cycling from the inside.
